So the story continues… Having done the area north of Como with winding crappy Italian roads, winding great Swiss roads, snow, ice and wonderful views, it was now time for the south.
Day three was Milan Day. We ditched our car and took the train to the city for some serious shopping and sightseeing. As it turned out, we got neither.

8 hours ago, I was almost 500 km north of Helsinki, in Jakobstad spending Christmas with my parents. In about 12 hours I’ll be about 80 km east of Helsinki, in PernÃ¥ celebrating my girlfriend’s mom’s 50th birthday. In about 32 hours I’m on a plane to Milan with her, about to spend New Year’s Eve in Bologna with my sisters. In about 2 weeks we’re on a plane to Gran Canaria for the IUI 2008 conference. I bought a nice new lens for my camera some weeks ago. It’s a basic 50mm lens, but with a quite wide aperture, 1.8. Perfect for taking portraits and pictures with short depth of field.
I was adventurous enough to take my camera with me to a couple of parties last weekend. But I’m glad I did, since I got quite a few nice pictures. But then again, I shot almost 1200 pictures in two days, 200 of which were worth showing…
I’m amazed that I actually was able to take the pictures since I was as drunk as anyone else on those parties. However, It’s a well known fact (?) that alcohol breeds creativity ;)
I almost fell off my chair on Sunday morning when I read what I had written to pve on our irc-channel the night before. I had been catching sun and studying to the exam I had today on Tervasaari on Saturday afternoon and was invited to my friends F’s and A’s housewarming party in the evening. It wasn’t supposed to get that wet, but what did I honestly think when mixing a litre of 50-50 cosmopolitan berfore I left?
